Thank you for your question. It really depends on what you are looking for, how big your family is, and what your budget looks like. Generally, the most popular areas for families with an average to higher budget are on the east and south of the city centre - places like Hoole, Upton, Great Boughton, Vicars Cross and Huntington, as well as Handbridge and Westminster Park. These give you good schools, parks and easy access into town, with a mix of period terraces and larger family homes.

If you are on a tighter budget, you might want to look more towards the west and north-west side of Chester or slightly out of the city into nearby villages and parts of North Wales, where prices are generally lower but you can still commute back into Chester quite easily.

Okay, thank you very much for your answer. If there is one take from this, what should I take? Where should I start looking at? Because, obviously, you're seeing all of these areas: Hoole, Upton, Great Boughton, Vicars Cross, etc. But we've been to Chester only to the Chester center and the Christmas market which are lovely by the way. All these areas do not talk to me; what is your suggestion? How should I start the research in order to find the best property? I see properties that look okay, the price might be negotiated of course haha, but what is your suggestion? How should I start?

My advice would be to start by focusing on just one or two areas max. Don't try to look at all of them at once or you'll just get overwhelmed. Pick the ones that appeal to you most and explore those first.

Also worth thinking about your lifestyle - what's your budget? How many bedrooms do you actually need minimum? What does your dtd look like - will you be commuting, working from home, or travelling a lot? Since you've got three children, schools should definitely be a big factor. Think about their ages and whether you need primary schools, secondary schools, or both. Most schools in Chester are within a 20-minute drive anyway, but it's incredibly convenient if your kids can just walk to school in a few minutes especially on those busy mornings.
